Hashbang Digital is looking for a Data Engineer to help build reliable, flexible data systems that drive real-world decisions. Our work includes ingesting and transforming complex data in secure settings, wiring up analytics pipelines for machine learning and AI tools, and supporting teams who rely on timely, trusted information. You’ll join a small, hands-on team where curiosity, clarity and problem-solving matter more than specific tools or titles.
– Solid understanding of data modelling, processing and transformation
– Comfortable working with structured and unstructured data
– Willing to learn new tools and navigate unfamiliar domains
– Able to communicate clearly with engineers, analysts and project leads
– Contributes actively to team ceremonies and delivery rhythm
– Capable of breaking work down and delivering in small, testable steps
– Experience with Python, SQL, Spark, or similar tools
– Familiarity with data pipelines, streaming, or batch processing
– Exposure to cloud platforms or secure environments
– Comfortable with early-stage, exploratory or R&D projects
– Interest in data-driven AI systems, public sector tech, or national security work
– Willingness to shape data architecture, influence delivery plans, or help grow the team
